The Return of the Andean Cedar
The Andean Cedar (Cedrela Lillol) is a type of tree highly valued for the great qualities of it´s wood. However, the cedar's existence is severely threatened as a result of intense exploitation and a change in the use of land. Pachamama Raymi has promoted the replanting of the tree in four districts (Colcha, Pillpinto, Ccapi and Pitumarca) in the region of Cusco, Peru. In 2015-2016, more than 120,000 trees will be planted in the highlands of Peru.
